What is the difference between 3000K and 4000K flood lights?

When I look for a flood light, I find that there is a parameter called color temperature. What is the difference between different color temperatures? Is it only related to the color of light?

3000 K flood lights emit warm yellow light, while 4000 K flood lights are white and are closer to natural light. Other differences between 3000 K and 4000 K flood lights include:

  • Feelings the lights bring: People will feel more comfortable with 3000 K flood lights. These lights usually work as decoration lights. However, 4000 K flood lights make people more alert and are more suitable to illuminate places like busy roads.
  • CRI: The 4000 K flood lights have a higher CRI than the 3000 K flood lights, and lights with a higher CRI can make people see objects more clearly.
  • Energy consumption: Lights with a lower CRI can have higher lighting efficiency. Therefore, 3000 K flood lights may save more energy.
