Before, there were people in charge of turning on and off the lights. But now people can set a timer for the street lighting system and make them light up at the same time. Some areas also use smart poles, which can automatically light up by detecting the surrounding conditions. As for maintenance, the operators can identify the fault by finding an unusual power consumption in a certain circuit and then searching for the broken one. For smart lighting systems, things will be easier, as each light can report the fault to the control center.
