Why do streetlights sometimes turn off as I walk under them?

I often walk or bike at night, and it always happens to me that the street light turns off as soon as I pass by it. What is the reason?
  • Coincide

Because of confirmation bias, you are likely to remember several times when the lights turn off but forget the thousands of times when the lights work as normal.

  • Circuit failure

Unstable power supply, poor wire contact, or a damaged controller may cause the street light to go out.

  • Environmental factor

When the ambient temperature under the street lamp is too high or too low, the electronic components inside the lamp may be affected. In addition, strong electromagnetic interference or voltage fluctuation may also influence the street light.
