How Far Should the Grow Light be from the Strawberries?

I want to grow strawberries from seeds in my home. What is the appropriate distance between the grow light and the plants?

Your grow lights can be placed farther away from the plant in the seedling stage. Generally, the distance is between 24 and 30 inches, depending on the size of the light you have used.

You can progressively bring the light closer during the vegetative phase, potentially reducing the height by 5-10 inches.

When your strawberries begin to flower, or fruit, the closest range of light with the maximum intensity should be applied to the plant. There is a range of 18-24 inches in this height. There should be no problems if the light is gradually lowered. You may need to check your strawberries each day if you do suddenly drop the light and shorten the distance.
