Can SAD therapy lights be used for plant growing?

I don’t want to invest in a grow light for my plants since I already have a SAD therapy light.

SAD therapy lights emit daylight colors, such as 5000K or above. The essential term is “lux,” as the right Kelvin and lux are required to have the desired effect on the human eyes and brain.

Plants have a distinct “need” because their goal is to grow and carry out photosynthesis. Blue light encourages a plant’s root growth, whereas red light encourages flowering. The key term is PAR.

You can use a SAD light early on in the seed growth phase, but you will need more red, blue, and violet light for the following stage of growth.
