How to Care for Pitcher Plants Indoors?

I have some pitcher plants growing in my house. How to take good care of them?

Lumière

Pitcher (Nepenthes) plants need intense light to thrive. The ideal setting for them is direct sunlight outside, where they can get at least six hours of direct light. They can be cultivated indoors under a grow light or on a sunny windowsill.

Water and Soil

These plants are heavy moisture users. Pitcher plants do not tolerate drought conditions, therefore water your plant when the soil volume is 25% sec.

Trimming

The good news is that pitcher plants usually dont need to be pruned unless the lack of humidity or moisture is causing the leaves or pitchers to turn brown. It is preferable to remove them from the plant if more than half of the leaves are brown.

Fertilizer

Pitcher plants dont need fertilizer because the majority of their nutrition comes from the insects they catch. This kind of plant is not used to living in the soil that is high in nutrients, therefore occasionally the fertilizer could even be detrimental to it.
