Can LED Grow Lights Cause Eye Damage?

In order to help supplement some light for my plants, I'd want to replace one of the bulbs in my flat with grow bulbs. But given that it's close to where I spend a lot of time reading, would this be hurting my vision?

Blue light can exert negative effects on your eyes. It can impair your vision and disrupt your sleep cycle. This is due to the fact that blue light penetrates all the way to your retina without being blocked by the cornea(the front, protective region of your eye that resembles a window). Blue light that enters your retina damages retinal cells, which subsequently results in macular degeneration. Long-term exposure to UVA light can potentially harm the retina, leading to cataracts.

Cependant, this does not imply that using LED lights will guarantee your blindness. It does imply that you should take requisite measures, such as wearing safety goggles to protect your vision.
