A certain amount of the glare produced by street lights is considered normal. The halo of street lights at night is caused by the diffraction and scattering effects of light. If the light is too strong and there are too many lights, glare may occur. In designing and placing street lights, the glare can be limited to the minimum. Cut-off and semi-cut-off street lights can avoid the glare. While placing the street lights, the distance should be appropriate to make sure there is not too much overlap or reflection of light.
