Do modern LED lights use thermal vias?

The older design always applied thermal vias to the PCB. Do people still use them?

Aluminum PCBs are very popular now, and the board can connect directly to the heat sink. Designers choose whether or not to use thermal vias according to the budget and limitations of the design.

For FR4 PCBs, they usually have thermal vias and can be an alternative to aluminum PCBs.
